Delaware Coalition Against Gun Violence is hosting a rally at the Hockessin Police Athletic League on Monday, March 30 from 10:00 to noon.
Team 26, a group of dedicated bike riders from Newtown, Conn., will be riding through Delaware on their way to Washington to lobby for gun reform. We have convinced them to make a brief stop in Delaware on their way from Philly to Baltimore. There are 26 riders, one for each of the teachers and children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. This is their third ride, but first time in Delaware.
They will make a 40-minute at the Hockessin PAL Center, where we will celebrate their ride and wish them well on their journey. We 'e inviting some legislators and other officials to ride with them for a couple miles before they get to the center.
We ’re holding the rally in the parking lot of the PAL center, 7259 Lancaster Pike, or in the gym is the weather’s bad. This is a public event and all who read this are invited to participate. Lets have a great turnout and remember those 26 innocent individuals.
In memory of those lost on December 14, 2012. They are forever in our thoughts and prayers.

Join the March against violence in Wilmington
http://wilmingtonpeacemarch.wordpress.com
September 27, 2014, Saturday, The groups, Pacem In Terris, Social Justice forum of the First Unitarian Church of Wilmington and the Wilmington Peacekeepers Association are joining together with a "MARCH FOR A CULTURE OF PEACE". This is to begin near the Brandywine Park at 303 West 18th St, (between Washington St..and Baynard Blvd). We will gather at the park across 18th street from the Baynard Apartments and the Hanover Presbyterian Church, and follow a predetermined route (above) to the Brown-Burton Winchester Park (Prices Park) beginning at 2:45 PM. and concluding at around 4:00 PM when a Peace Rally will begin. The peace Rally will end about 4:30 PM The Wilmington Peacekeepers are making a humble and sincere plea for all or as many as possible on our email list to consider participation in this joint effort. With three great groups we should be able to really get the attention of the community of Wilmington as a whole as well as our government officials. Every citizen has a stake in safe streets. A too often used phrase, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" when it come to the illegal or improper use of a firearm is still appropriate here. Please consider this march and save the date. Car pool if you can although there is parking on the streets near the park. A bus or vans will be available for the return trip to your car. Wear gear or orange if you have it but most importantly, PLEASE ATTEND. Please feel free to pass this announcement on to any individuals that may not now be part of an organization but may want to participate. We need as many participants as humanly possible in order to make this a watershed moment in Wilmington's change of direction around Violence and Crime.
